China aims to create an organization for AI

To China, AI is a powerful and potentially dangerous tool. Today, China has announced its intention to establish an organization aimed at enhancing cooperation and regulation in the field of AI. Currently, AI is an emerging market with little regulation. China has leveraged it as a means to bring the developing world into the world of AI, an area that has largely been dominated by the strongest nations. All of this is set against the backdrop of the United States and China embarking on an AI arms race. China has in the past criticized the United States for restricting its export of AI chips, specifically, aiming to weaken China's standing in the race. Nonetheless, if China has the strength of its giant companies such as Huawei, they have a good chance of catching up or even surpassing the United States.
