Christmas Day Plane crash was Russia's fault-claims Azerbaijani president

A plane crash took place on Christmas day, killing 38 people, with most being Azerbaijani, but with some Kazakhs, Russians and Kyrgyz as well. The plane crashed due to being hit with an unidentified object around the Russian Republic of Chechnya. Azerbaijani president Ilham Aliyev has claimed that it is squarely Russia to blame, claiming that they accidentally shot down the plane. It has been alleged that what hit the plane was anti-air defense systems. Vladimir Putin has responded with an apology due to it being shot down in Russian airspace, but has not gone the extra mile to take responsibility. Aliyev has accused Russia of trying to cover up what happened, and that it is necessary that they take responsibility.
