Americans across the nation are being plunged into what many consider a recession. Even if the fear is unfounded, it has had effect on stores and warehouses. Companies such as Costco and Walmart have stated that there has been an effect on spending with the consumers. Costco, for example has seen their stock dramatically drop during this period. Recently, it has been shown that Americans will choose the option that is cheaper more often than not. According to a Wells Fargo money study, 76% of Americans are cutting back on spending. This has been connected to the actions of President Donald Trump, who has slapped tariffs on nations worldwide. This has overall increased the prices of goods in multiple different sectors. American confidence in the economy has declined on both sides of the aisle, according to a poll by Pew Research Center poll. It still stands to be seen what affect this will have on business and the economy in the future.
