Israel declares that it will continue its occupation of parts of Syria, Lebanon, and Gaza for an indefinite time.

Currently, Israel occupies large swaths of Syria, Lebanon, and Palestine, which has come with mountains of international criticism. Israel, citing national security, has declared that it will keep what it has for an indefinite period. This military occupation goes against international law and is considered illegitimate by most nations.

This has resulted in negotiations with Hamas stalling, as they demand that Israel leave the Gaza Strip before they will resume. The new Syrian government has also reacted negatively to Israel's invasion of their south, claiming that it is a hostile attack on their sovereignty and is weakening their nation at a time when they need greater stability. On the other hand, Lebanon has tried an approach that would help improve relations with Israel. Lebanon has pledged to disarm Hezbollah, which the militants have rebuked due to an Israeli hold on Southern Lebanon. Right now, tensions in the Middle East seem unlikely to die down.
