James Earl Carter, the former president of the United States, has reached a significant milestone as the first former president to ever reach the milestone of 100 years old.
Carter served as president during a very consequential time in American history, amid the Cold War and economic troubles which plagued the world.
Carter, following his presidency, became an activist and humanitarian, often volunteering for organization such as building homes for the homeless.
Now, Carter became the first presidential supercentarian to have ever lived, carrying the age-old legacies of Herbert Hoover and George H.W. Bush, two presidents who also lived very long.
