Pope Francis has recently criticized Kamala Harris and Donald Trump, but the interesting part is that it is for different reasons. The Pope criticized Donald Trump for his views on the border, while Kamala Harris was criticized for her stance on abortion. Pope Francis has called Trump's views on the border a "grave sin." While also criticizing Harris's stance on abortion, calling the process an "assassination." In this, he has called them both against life.
Catholics in the United States number around 72-76 million, which means his words can affect the election. Pope Francis has told American voters to choose "the lesser evil" between Trump and Harris, and only time can tell what effect this will have on the election.
