The Sudanese government has recently been retaliating against the Rapid Support Forces, an opposition force in the Sudanese Civil War. The Sudanese Armed Forces have seized parts of the capital, Khartoum, and surrounding areas, such as El-Obeid. The Rapid Support Forces have been meeting with foreign governments, such as the United Arab Emirates, to form a parallel government. This has received criticism from the Sudanese government and its allies, such as Egypt. Egypt, especially, has stated that they will not recognize any parallel government and that the current Sudanese government is legitimate. The civil war has been brutal towards the people of Sudan, with millions fleeing the country and millions of others being displaced from their homes.
