The 2024 Presidential Election is now a mere 22 days away.
The two most influential candidates, Donald J. Trump for the Republican Party, and Kamala D. Harris for the Democratic Party, are virtually tied in the polls. While Trump does have leads in most swing states, those leads are very narrow and fall within the margin of error, so he is not clearly winning. Meanwhile, Kamala Harris continues to hold onto her strong popular vote lead, despite some reduction in her margin from September.
Meanwhile, many independent voters are looking for Green Party candidate, Jill Stein, for their support. Stein is particularly eating up Trump and Harris' support among Muslim-Americans, where in many swing states, she leads both major candidates in that ethnic group. Libertarians are unlikely to have a good showing in the election, as of now.
Trump has made up significant ground from the fallout of his debate with Harris in September. This was due to his running mate JD Vance's exceptional debate performance in early October, painting a more positive image of his MAGA agenda. Trump has also hammered Harris on the issues, visiting Aurora, Colorado, as well as making rallies in New York and California, two of the largest liberal states in the Union.
Harris is trying to maintain her lead which she obtained from Trump following her nomination. She has attacked Trump and his allies for their previous record, while also distancing herself from the very unpopular Joe Biden. She has taken much more moderate stances on the issues than before, causing many to speculate over whether or not she is actually dedicated to her proposals.
As of now, the race is too close to call for a decisive winner. With 22 days to go, the mixture of early voting and election day voting will decide which candidate takes the seat in the White House come Inaguration day.
