Markets sink again ahead of worsening tensions in the Middle East.

The S&P 500 index fell 0.03% and the Dow index fell 0.1%. Meanwhile, the Nasdaq index rose 0.13% and the Russell 2000 index rose by a staggering 0.52%. Gold and the USD stagnated.


Investors largely sold off today as tensions in the Middle East between Iran and Israel exacerbate. Specifically, investors turned away from buying oil stocks like Exxon Mobil Corp. because of the risk that Israeli bombing raids put on Iranian oil fields, and Iran's dominance over the Strat of Hormuz, where much of the world's oil flows through.


The Magnificent Seven saw mixed results, with Nvidia leading the way as it hypes the future of artificial intelligence. Google saw the greatest decline in share price as its competitors seek AI victories. Amazon also fell because it laid off workers amid the AI boom.
