The S&P 500 index fell 0.28%, the Dow 30 index fell 0.52%, the Nasdaq index fell 0.08%, and the Russell 2000 index fell 0.61%. Meanwhile, the VIX volatility index, measuring the magnitude of fluctuations in the market, rose by a slight 0.8%, with it rising higher midday when stocks rebounded from deeper losses until ultimately losing on net marginally.

Global stocks and ETFs has similarly stagnant results, with the exception being Japan's Nikkei 225 index, rising 1.77% as investors there become satisfied with the new ruling party leader and most likely next prime minister Sanae Takaichi said today that the Bank of Japan's interest rate decision must align which what she perceived as to be government goals.

Cryptocurrency was very much sensitive to today's corrective attitude overall, with Bitcoin dropping from near all-time highs by 1.5% and Ethereum 3.47%. However, the less volatile precious metals gold and silver rose 0.47% and 0.88%, respectively, as investors from all parts of the market flock toward these forms of currency over the weakening US dollar and the risky cryptocurrencies.

Stocks fell as they react to their rise yesterday. However, some outliers managed to overcome such selling pressure and even make gains. After President Trump approved of the sale of chips to the United Arab Emirates, Nvidia's stock reached an all-time high price at $192.57, a total of a 1.83% rise today alone. And, both Delta Airlines and PepsiCo reported strong earnings, in fact beating estimates, causing their stocks to rise during market hours and in after hours. Airline stocks have previously performed worse due to the streak of airplane crashes/accidents globally, but these earnings reports may indicate a shift in the positive direction for these stagnating private entities.
