Ukraine has been sent a plan formulated by Russia and the United States. It is split into twenty-eight points, but here are the most important parts:Ukraine cedes all of Donetsk and Luhansk into de-facto Russian control, Ukraine has to reduce their troop count to 600,000, and they are banned from joining NATO. President Trump has given Ukraine until Thursday to agree to the deal.
Reactions for this, has for the most part been negative. European leaders slammed the deal as being another form of appeasement to the Kremlin. These same European leaders have made their own peace deal, which is considered less harsh than the Trump plan. For starters, Ukraine's troop reduction would be less severe, with it being 800,000 instead of 600,000. Moreover, Ukraine would not have to give up all the Donbass or be barred from joining NATO. Ukraine's recovery would happen with seized Russian assets. This plan has been considered more fair towards Ukraine.
