How we
started...

Initially started by two high school sophomores, The Daily Drop was initially intended to deliver immediate, simple news for people in their community. They saw what resulted from the lack of financial literacy and economic inequality across their neighborhoods, as well as low trust in the media, and turned both finance and journalism into a creative project.

They expanded the initiative to several volunteers, with thousands of unique readers globally.

We advocate.

The two sophomores' initial vision didn't only include posting news content but also teaching members of the community about personal finance, civics, and news literacy.

Our efforts have taught dozens of young members of the community and was praised by numerous education administrators.

After our summit at Icahn Charter School 3, billionaire investor Carl C. Icahn was described as being "very interested" in The Daily Drop during a school board meeting, according to the school's principal. We’re proud to have caught the attention of one of the world’s most influential investors.
