Democratic nominee for the 2025 New York City Mayoral Election Zohran Mamdani has secured a majority voteshare of NYC voters, according to a new poll released by Zenith Research and Public Progress Solutions.

The poll used a total sample size of 1,453 New York City residents from the period between July 16th to 24th in its results. This poll specifically has been the latest poll for the NYC mayoral race, which has recently suffered a lack of polling data ever since Mamdani's victory in the Democratic primary, perhaps because pollsters are giving the race some time to ease up before making accurate results.
The poll found that in a field of five including Mamdani, Andrew Cuomo, Eric Adams, Curtis Sliwa, and Jim Walden, Mamdani himself has garnered a majority 50% vote share in the poll, with his total opposition numbering 49% in general. Keep in mind that this is a five-way race, so a combined oppositional ticket is virtually impossible unless some candidates were to drop out of the race (Eric Adams has, though, been pressured to leave the race and endorse Cuomo).
In specific numbers, Cuomo received 22% of the vote, Sliwa came third with 13%, and then Adams with 7%. Jim Walden, previously a rising star moderate, has dropped in support to 1% as more of his base flocks to Cuomo and Adams. The "others/I don't know" category held 6% of the remaining votes in the poll.

A previous poll on July 14th had Mr. Mamdani in the lead by double digits, but not with the same majority support that he now has according to the Zenith Research/Public Progress Solutions poll.
Mamdani's vote share is rising as the candidate is receiving a number of endorsements and is expecting to get new endorsements from key figures such as Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries. The falling approval rating of President Trump, furthermore, is giving more left-wing Democrats like Mamdani greater breathing room, making Mamdani's case against Trump even more appealing to moderates who may disapprove of ICE intervention in NYC and tariffs.
With Mamdani's victory almost in sight, anti-Mamdani Democrats have pit even further pressure for Adams to resign and endorse Cuomo, who is the strongest contender to Mamdani in the general election.
