Trump has officially cut ties with Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene. Here's why it reveals a growing trend.

Trump and Greene's split became official. On Truth Social yesterday, Trump declared that he had revoked his support for her, calling her "wacky." To me, this has been long coming, as Greene has recently begun moving further away from the president's orbit, with them clashing on issues such as the Epstein Files. Trump has not been happy about her support for their release, and he has been on her case about it.
Greene responded on X, with her stating that she did not "worship" or "serve" Trump, and that his refusal to release the files speaks volumes about his priorities.
This follows a broader trend of Republicans distancing themselves from the Trump faction, with others, such as Nancy Mace and Lauren Boebert, not following Trump's lead in Congress. With all the pressure on him, Trump has begun getting desperate, pressuring fellow Republicans to vote against releasing the files. What Trump fails to understand is that if these Senators and Representatives do this, they put their chances of reelection at risk. Even if they are reelected, this will be a stain on their record for years to come.
That may be a reason why these Congresswomen are voting to release the files-if they do not, they run the risk of putting their own careers in jeopardy for a president who will not be in power after a few years.
