Donald Trump states that Veterans Day will be renamed.

American president Donald Trump recently made the statement on Truth Social that Veterans day will be renamed under his administration. Trump has claimed November 11th and May 8th would become Victory Day for World War l and World War ll respectively. This has not come without pushback however. Independent Veterans of America leader Paul Rieckhoff has flamed Trump for this decision, calling the decision "epically stupid" and has stated that Veterans day is for more than just World War l and World War ll. According to Rieckhoff, Veterans Day is also for veterans from the Korean War, the War in Iraq , the War in Afghanistan etc. It is still unclear if Trump will go forward directly, so it is still up in the air.
