Florida sheriff Wayne Ivey has been vocal about his dislike for the anti-Trump protests occuring throughout the nation. On a Thursday news conference, he stated that law enforcement would respond in kind if the protesters ended up becoming violent. The recent protest planned to happen in Florida is in response to Trump's military parade coming up. The most controversial thing he stated during that conference was the statement, "If you throw a brick, a firebomb or point of gun at one of our deputies, notifying your family were to collect your remains at. Because we will kill you, graveyard dead. We’re not going to play.” This has been extremely poorly received, and has been named an abuse of power or authoritarian. For now, the protests are scheduled to continue. It remains unseen how violent it will become.
