Sliwa refuses White House offer for a job, Adams is unsure

NYC mayoral race

Donald Trump revealed his stance on the Mayoral race through a ten-day deadline for two of the major mayoral candidates, Eric Adams and Curtis Sliwa. He has been pressuring both to drop out of the race for the benefit of Cuomo, who is Trump's last hope to defeat Mamdani. While Trump dislikes Cuomo, he acknowledges that, for better or worse, Cuomo is the closest person to defeating Mamdani.

Adams was offered an ambassadorial position to Saudi Arabia. Initially, he stated that he would remain in the race, but a few hours later, he began to reconsider the position. Sliwa, on the other hand, has refused to drop out, even with pressure from both Republicans and Democrats. Sliwa has claimed that if he dropped out of the race, he would be required to repay the sponsors, which would amount to over $3 million. Even if sponsorship money wasn't a problem, it is unlikely that Sliwa would drop out. Sliwa is known for being a proud man and is set in his goals.

According to recent polls, it appears likely that Mamdani will secure victory in the race unless both Sliwa and Adams withdraw from the contest.
