A new poll from the weekly Reuters/Ipsos rating showed a decline in favorability for the incumbsent president.

The survey indicated that President Trump's approval rating to be 42%, down from the 44% approval which he possessed just last week. Now, a stronger majority of Americans either disapprove or are neutral about the job that the president is doing so far, almost 4 months after this inauguration as the holder of the executive branch.
The president also performed poorly in regards to the economy, where he averaged an approval rating of 39%. This is contrary to his previous popularity for his economic policies, especially during the 2024 election cycle when he performed very well with voters in the economy, many time surpassing 50% in approval.
The drop in approval for the president by many Americans is a testament to recent political and economic events that have contributed to more Americans growing anxious. The president's relentless tariff policies have only ramped up as trade negotiations slow down, and Trump's "big, beautiful bill" poses a threat to the debt crisis as revenues will decrease due to massive tax cuts, much on the wealthy.
